Most Home Based Franchise Entrepreneurs do not look outside of their box for different solutions and answers. 

Successful home based franchise entrepreneurs are successful because they borrow ideas from, in most cases, businesses that are outside of their specific industry; this would include ideas from outside your MLM or direct marketing company.  They tend to think outside of their own four walls for additional ways to be successful.  Let me give you just a few examples…

McDonalds, Burger King…most of the early fast food chains did not originally have drive thru windows.  You had to physically go in, order your food and either eat in or take it home. 

Did you know that the drive thru concept was not born from fast food restaurants?  The original idea came from drive thru banking.  Obviously somewhere along the way the fast food industry realized the convenience to their customers in not having to get out of their car to do business with them and there you go… drive thru windows were born. 

Today, most fast food restaurants, donut places, and coffee stands are enjoying the added revenue of giving the convenience to their customers by providing them the option of a drive thru.  And while the restaurant chains like Uno’s, Applebee’s and PF Chang’s don’t have drive thru windows…yet…they do have curb side delivery… The next best thing.  How can you make it more convenient for your customers, leads and prospects to do business with you in your home based franchise?

Another example of “borrowing” an idea from a different industry is Netjet.  For those of you who don’t know; Netjet is a fractional ownership in private jets.  Pretty cool, right?  Well, where do you think that Netjet got the idea from?  The time-share industry.  Fractional ownership of vacation property to make it more affordable has been around for decades and now Netjet is doing the same thing for those customers who want the luxury of having their own jet, but don’t want the financial burden of the entire investment.

I am actually looking into a fractional ownership of a beachfront property.  The concept is brilliant.  You might not be able to afford a luxury item of one kind or another, but you bring several like-minded individuals in on the same purchase…work out an agreement of time of use and viola…everyone gets to enjoy and take pride in ownership of something that otherwise might have been financially out of reach. 

Are the products or your specific opportunity in your home based business high ticket items?  Could the cost be divided up by several like-minded individuals and the value of the products and opportunity be shared among everyone? 

Depending upon your product or service, these individuals don’t necessarily need to even live near each other.  Are you thinking outside of your four walls yet?

One of the most successful marketing strategies of all time is giving a gift with an appointment or a purchase.  The pharmaceutical industry took this idea to an entirely new level and was severely reprimanded because of it…but gifting was not originally born from the pharmaceutical and medical industry.  No, it was originally born from the cosmetic industry…you might have heard of her…Estee Lauder.  Estee Lauder was the first to give free lipsticks and cosmetics to passer bys and to those who purchased something in the Estee Lauder line. 

In Sydney Biddle Barrows new book “Uncensored Sales Strategies” the Mayflower Madam incorporated very successfully the marketing strategy of giving gifts.  Now, I know where your mind might be going at this point and you can stop right there!!  My suggestion for you is to read this book, co-authored by Dan Kennedy.  It is a brilliant sales and business book. 

Getting back to the topic…when Sydney was the Mayflower Madam, she would gift her best clients with a bottle of Dom Perignon.  You will have to read the book for the marketing strategy for this very expensive and tasty gift and I will tell you it was certainly a win/win business strategy for her very successful enterprise.

Allow agents to stay longer in the house because they will be able to retain a lot more detail. You might also want to entice them by preparing food, which do not have to be very expensive.

10. Send E-Flyers

Take advantage of the advances made by technology. E-mails tend to make advertising easier. Plus, they are not very costly and would only take a minimal ounce of preparation on your part. Send e-flyers or e-brochures to real estate agents who sell near your area, friends, family members, co-workers and other brokers who represent buyers nearby. 

I know that some of their testimonials make it seem this way, but that’s not the case.

Now I’m not saying that there isn’t anyone that has made a significant amount of money in only a few days, but some may leave out the fact that they struggled the last ten years before they found some type of success. You have to look past the hype.

For those of you that are still attending your weekly hotel HYPE meetings, let me bring you back down to earth for a second. You cannot build a business based solely on “hyping” everyone into your downline. Eventually the feel good sermon is going to wear off and if you don’t have nothing of value to offer your downline, they will either quit or look elsewhere for their solution to achieving some type of success.

There are 3 important phases of growth in MLM that you must understand in order to get to where you want to be. First you must gain the knowledge, the power, and only then will the wealth come to you. This is where many network marketers fail because their lottery mindset stemming from their lack of patience causes them to skip the first two steps and go straight for the wealth.

If you want to build your business, then you must have a plan laid out in front of you that will take you from Point A to Point B. It may require 5, 10, or even 20 steps between point A and B. However, you cannot put the plan in motion if you don’t have the slightest clue to what you are doing.

How can you market yourself and your business if you haven’t taken the time to actually LEARN how to actually market? Please understand that “Hi, my name is (blank), would you be interested in taking a look at my once in a lifetime business opportunity?” is NOT marketing! I like to call it BS (Business Suicide). You must take the time to educate yourself on how to market effectively.

Now I understand that the Internet has an unlimited amount of sources on the subject of network marketing, so much in fact that the information overload can literally fry your brain. That doesn’t mean you go off and purchase each and every e-book out there all at once. Money may be tight at the moment and you don’t want to waste it on a bunch of irrelevant crap that is circulating the net these days.

I would recommend starting off by focusing on those that are considered to be leaders in this industry or even those that are putting it all together and really starting to catch a head of steam. These guys have all types of relevant content scattered all over the web, most notably on their blogs. Many of their blogs provide FREE valuable tips and methods that you can store in that MLM archive in your brain.

Don’t get me wrong because there are some books and programs that I have purchased that have truly helped me along the way, most of them recommended by some of these industry giants. I made up in my mind that in order to succeed that I needed to bulk up my knowledge base on how to be successful in this industry.

I’m glad to have shared a little of my insight with you guys today. I’ll get into the next two steps sometime later this week. Lay your foundation by educating yourself and you’ll have no where to go but up!

But when we consider a fresh recruit and how they are doing, ACN is not the easiest company to get off to a fast start. I had quite a bit of support from my upline, but the videos and audios just didn’t jell with my way of doing business.

One of the drawbacks to ACN is the $499 sign-up fee. This isn’t all THAT much, but in today’s economy it is a hindrance to a lot of people. You can earn some quick money right away in ACN. The trick to doing this is be a recruiting giant that signs up 4 to 6 new people each month. This fast recruiting puts you in a nice bonus pool with some nice cash.

ACN is very strict about using your own website or blog to promote your business. Your hands are so tied, that you have to almost be totally “generic” and not mention ACN or even the phone carriers, like Sprint. So the value of combining your own internet marketing to bolster your ACN income is lost.

One huge drawing card to the Buzzirk/Global Verge business is the low sign-up fee – $69.00. And the whole idea of the incredible internet speeds that come with your cool smart phone was something that is hard to pass up. Just like many new start up companies, Buzzirk has had thier problems. The biggest headache is getting everything together to finally launch. It has taken longer than they origanally thought.

They are just starting to come out with some real cool phones, and they are even better than the Buzzirk phones were supposed to be a few months ago. The new phones from Global Verge are going to be called “Talk Smart” phones. They will be rolling out VOIP – Voice Over Internet Protocol – phones for your home. They say the quality will be 3 steps above Vonage and much cheaper.

One nice feature of the “Talk Smart” cell phone, they will have a phone for any budget. For example, you will pay $39.99 for a cell phone with unlimited talk and unlimited Text – USA. But this is one huge difference between Buzzirk and ACN. Buzzirk has not contracts, no taxes and no fees.

What attracts individuals to Global Verge, besides the phones, is their commitment to finding money-saving products for our homes. They are also commited to being “green” in their energy saving products. People also like their compensation plan – a 3 x 9 matrix that has a lot of unique bonus pools and exceptional matrix enhancements.

One piece of guidance I would like to pass on about the company sponsored replicated web sites. Most MLM companies have these for their representative or IBO’s. Some companies charge you a monthly fee. Some, including Global Verge, don’t.

Replicated company sites have some big drawbacks. They are usually about “LOOK AT ME – I’m such a great company – We are the world’s best and have the best products and medical research teams.” Blah, blah blah!! Your prospect really could be bothered less. I’m serious. Another reason replicated sites don’t work is they really suck when it comes to SEO – Search Enging Optimization. In other words, how can Google find your site, when it looks, acts, and smells just like 30,000 other ones?

What do you think your prospect really wants? They are looking for a leader, like you, who can show them the way out of their miserable job, or lifestyle they are in. But you don’t know this unless you learn to ask the right questions. And sending your hungry prospect to your “cool replicated site” will turn them off real quick.

So how do you handle this? Go fishing! This is a whole different way of looking at it. Instead of vomiting all over your new prospect by showing them the plan or business, you first of all throw out your fighing line, and see if they bite. If they don’t bite, let them go. Yes, let them go. I know it’s hard to do, but you will feel better when you realize not every person is cut out for your enterprise.

One other thing that will help you in ACN or in Global Verge is to find a method that will automatically generate good quality leads for you. Most people cannot stand the objections. Can person A or B do the same and achieve the same result over and over? I dare say NO!. When you join a network marketing company one of the first thing to look for is to ask your sponsor about the lead generation systems that they have in place that can be duplicated for success. It does not matter if your sponsor has been at it for a short time. The team that you join must have a system in place that will work for everyone who uses it. The system should be simple such that you can also teach it to anyone regardless of their personality or skill level. Basically the system should be designed to train the system! The system should be able to be without problems handed down to each team member that enables him/her to train each of his prospects/clients in using the same system.

Duplication is following in the steps of a system to achieve desired results. A network marketing (or MLM) tip that you will need to succeed in your home-based business is: only join a company that has a proven duplicatable system that you can use for your success.

The system must have a training component. The system must provide a full skills set including client interface, advertising and internet know how, and mentoring methods. Resources (books, videos and audios) should be limitless and readily available. The system must work for everyone who uses it – not for a select few.

The prospecting system should include a back office that is reasonably priced and easy to navigate. Components of this back office should include a check list, complete lead generation management system, email and Ad Copy templates, capture pages combined with auto-responder, an advertisement tracking system that is integrated and allows for performance comparison, and a help section that you can easily fall on when you need directions.

Make a determination from the onset when you join to learn the system. Success is a choice that you have to make. Work the system consistently. It might not work for you right away, but remember as with everything in life, there will be a learning curve.
